PINERIDGE

by PINERIDGE on 29 December 2012 - 01:12

I know that Kirschental has stopped breeding since Herr Fuller's passing, but i found this note on the main website under the "Females" page.  There are just 3 females left there - and this note:
Bedingt durch den Tod meines Mannes Karl Füller möchte ich versuchen, die Zucht in kleinem Rahmen weiter zu führen, damit die Kirschental-Linie nicht ganz ausstirbt.

it does not automatically translate when using the English version of the website. Any help would be appreciated.  I don't want to bother Marion with this at this time - but would like to know what it says.  Thanks for any help.

Due to the death of my husband Charles filler I want to try
breeding on a small scale to continue it, so that the line does not die completely Kirschental

Hope this helps some. I know I am close

Well this is excellent news !!!  BTW - his name is  Karl Fuller -- It'sunfortunate that his son could not keep a couple of dogs to do some limited breeding under his own kennel -- but people have their priorities -- not for me to judge. Maybe with Marion keeping a very few dogs - her son can take something in the future.  62 years is a huge legacy that Kirschental has left us.  From winnng the  HGH trials 10 times - to world Sieger - Eiko - not to mention the hundreds of Guide Dogs and service dogs with Kirschental DNA !!

The middle bitch on the page "Dessa" is the mother of my latest puppy.  She produced an awesome litter with Lennox vom Regina Pacis and we are, as always, soo grateful to have another Kirschental dog -- he is totally awesome -- even tho not appreciated by most American breeders.(see my avatar)

I agree, good news for the breed. Any SL breeder who doesn't recognize the contribution the Fullers have made to the breed just  hasn't been paying attention. Most WL breeders don't like any showlines, so that would be expected.

All power to Marion Fuller;  good for her, and hope she has the
best of luck in keeping things going, if on a smaller scale.  So
glad to hear this news, that the GSD will not entirely lose this
Kennel's expertise.  An excellent start for the coming year.

I owned  Silvo vom Kirschental although he was no working line dog he was a blast to trial. He was a very sweet fun loving dog. Prettiest dog ever in my kennels. V15 at Bakersfield in believe in 1997 many times SchH III with a average score of 271 A blast of a dog.

Good to hear they will make an attempt to carry on the kennel and Herr Fuller's legacy.

I think this was the first year in many that there was not a Kirschental entered in the HGH class at the German Sieger? That in itself should be a concern for the breed. I hope that there are others in Germany and here who see the value in continuing the Fuller's work.

perhaps I will still be able to get  a  SIXTH dog next year !!    I don't know where I'd get a dog otherwise..The pupster is a handfull at  8 months!!  and while we stopped breeding about 15 years ago - we will not neuter this puppy  (NOT an advertisement)  I'm just sayin.........

Our first "Foster Puppy" (for FIDELCO) was a daughter of Hero Lauerhoff X a Kirschental bitch (bred in Germany and whelped here)  --- that puppy taught us what a REAL German Shepherd should be like (compared to what we had in the past) - and there have been Kirschental dogs (and/or the bloodline) in our house continuously since 1974!!!
