Update on my boy... - Page 1

Just wanted to drop in and update on how my boy is doing for anyone who remembers my Kaiser... He is doing amazing! It's almost impossible to tell he had surgery other then his funny looking sit. He now runs and jumps and is able to get on my bed every night, which is kind of annoying because there isn't enough space for the both of us! But being able to see him act like a normal dog is enough for me to be okay with sleeping in awkward positions, lol. It's amazing seeing him actually running and enjoying himself. I'm so so so so glad I decided to do the operation. I've decided to hold off on his other hip until at least a year has passed, even though the vet has given me the green light to do the surgery whenever I want. I think he and I are enjoying his freedom too much right now to go through surgery so soon, so until the new year rolls around we will be working on losing the pudge on both of us... :) Also, I know there are mixed feelings on the DM test, but I sent it in anyway since I scored free shipping with my clinic (blood tests must be overnighted). Found out yesterday my boy is N/N! :) woohoo, (possibly) one less thing to worry about, lol. Sorry if my paragraph breaks aren't showing up... Posting from my phone.

Chrissy, thanks for this update--such good news can only be a welcome thing!  I was just thinking about you and Kaiser earlier this week, too.  I think we're all due for a few new pictures of him, what say?  And while the OFA test results aren't necessarily absolute, it's still a good feeling to see those N/N results instead of 'at risk', IMO. 

I'm so so so so glad you decided to do the surgery, too--cost aside, the aftercare required a serious commitment on your part and was no cakewalk, and lots of folks would have a difficult time trying to arrange their schedules to accomodate what the dog needed post-surgery.

Yes, a picture of Kaiser running full-tilt would be a good thing to look at right about now. :)

Fantastic news Chrissy about Kaiser. It's heartwarming to read about successful operations and dogs being able to lead a full life.

Way to go Kaiser and as everyone else has said, pictures would be good...

What wonderful news! I'm so glad the surgery was a success and that Kaiser is feeling good and acting like a normal dog! Congrats on the DM results too.

Lol, I will see what I can do about pics, but you may be out of luck! Tucson is already hitting 100F+ daily so it's hard to get out during the day and my internet has not been working. :( He looks great though; sometimes even I have trouble remembering which leg was operated on.
