The local News paper reports her fines amount to $1523.00 plus court costs. The article will be available online tomorrow.

A dog groomer convicted on animal cruelty charges for accidentally killing two German shepherds has been sentenced to one year probation and $1523.00 in fine and court costs. Jennifer Rainey, 26 of Madison Heights, Michigan will have the criminal charges erased from her record if she successfully completes probation, according to the sentencing guidelines in 38th District Court in Eastpointe.

Rainey left her dogs in a hot vehicle in August while she took another dog into an Eastpointe animal clinic to show co-workers that the animal has been certified as a therapy dog. When she returned the two dogs were deceased from the heat.
Rainey who initially claimed a stranger closed the window on her truck, entered a guilty plea Nov. 24th.

"this was an isolated incident and a poor decision in the life of someone who loves and cares for her dogs," said Troy based defense attorney Robert Harrington.

I know Killer Rainey.... I had spoken to the Detective on this case and it was so clear what Jennifer had done to her dogs. Jennifer kept those dogs, some of her puppies and even had breed dogs in the back of her pick up. Many of us in the dog world who saw her at shows and such expressed our fears for her dogs and she paid no mind. Jennifer lied about what she did for a living, saying she was a Vet assistant...she was a groomer....saying her dog was a therapy... which he isn't and the cape she has him wear is against the law. Jennifer lied about being a real dog instructor and breeding quality dogs. Jennifer is a lair and her last lie finally caught up with her having to pay for killing her dogs and pleading guilty. Her punishment was far short of what I think she should have gotten. Jail time is what is given for murder and she should be sitting in a cell right now. I knew the two dogs she killed and they were sweet dogs. I pray that their deaths at least have put Jennifer out of the dog business and will stop the cruelty she subjected all her dogs to. Rest in Peace Ranger & Cassidy.
