Funky Munky, thank god for people like you(the voice of commom sense) seems to have been lost here completely

Reason you stated :
"I not a hip expert nor i doubt are you but when did you last hear of a dog dying under 10 years with hip related problems and a score of 25 or less."
I have known many pts, due to having sockets so shallow that the head of the femur is not in the socket, not many pet owners can afford hip replacement surgery.
Since hip and elbow dysplasia are known to be inherited, the ethical approach to breeding policy would surely be to breed only from dogs that do not have the condition. ‘Offspring hip scores could be reduced substantially by using only parents with zero hip score.’ AHT 2002 It is clearly essential that UK breeders give hip and elbow health high priority in their breeding decisions.
Also dogs with poor health affects their mental wellbeing, a dog who is iin constant pain or has to be on lifelong medication for various reasons can turn a dogs temperment.
Everyones interpration of "work" will be different, you do SCH I use one as a therapy dog the other for flushing game.
If there is going to be a test for "work" it should be focussed on the mental stability of a dog in the community not on a "sports" field.

Peggy, you keep telling us that we are, "in La La land", "not living in the real world" etc etc... well... maybe we like it here, clearly you do too, for you visit with monotonous regularity!
by Peggy on 11 September 2008 - 21:09
Miss Beep
having read your last and current posts it is blatantly obvoius that you do not have a clue what you are talking about or the GSD in general, Pam talks sense and so does Liz.
You i am afraid are clueless beyond reproach,DP's puppet sums it in one,You want to pressgang your MP for changes but did not even know what working qualifications were until your last few posts(how sad is that)
suggest you keep your uneducated mind to yourself in future and then maybe the breed can move forward
by funky munky on 11 September 2008 - 21:09
Pam and Peggy, agree whole heartedly, but i fear on this particular thread we are a minority. Now in the real world i am sure we are the majority, going by the number of views this is getting i am sure most are just too scared to post because of the bully tactics. liz

Peggy, I have attained many working qualifications in my life, up to "B" in obedience, C.D.ex, U.D.ex, W.D. with more than one dog too... how about you? What I know little of are German working qualifications; I live in the UK, so I don't feel bad about that and as I've said previously, I have little interest in manwork/protection but I'm smart enough to ask those that do know, incase I should need to learn.
I know quite a lot about my breed but I will never be arrogant enough to think that there's nothing I can learn!
God forbid that our precious breed should be dependant upon the oneupmanship that passes for knowledge with some. DP's puppet???... bless... read the posts!
If you wanted your opinions to be included, perhaps you should have put them forward in a positive and agreeable format.
Uneducated mind... no... that's not my mind you're talking about is it?
by Peggy on 11 September 2008 - 22:09
Ok Miss Beep you have answered your own questions. You know little about the German way of showing, or working come to that, but you have bombarded every pesron you can think of ie MP's in a view to get your point put forward(what pont ?)
When you know little of what you are talking about.I suggest you put up and shut up before you embarass yourself even more
by funky munky on 11 September 2008 - 22:09
MISSBEEB,i have looked back over all the posts, and Peggy posted at the start and you pulled her up,i also notice at some point all the way through this whole thread, you have slammed everybody at some point, just an observation.Actually you are starting to sound awfully like someone elseon here who likes to put people down.Ireally do not see how this helps with improving the gsd. goodnight liz.
by missbeeb on 11 September 2008 - 22:09
Peggy, it's probably a mistake to reply to you but here we go. You've failed to answer the question about what you've achieved... work or show...? German or UK? Ah! Not much then?
I am doing something in conjuction with others on this thread, that will benefit our breed, if we get anywhere... it's for our dogs, not personal glory. We are not trying to put across a point as you call it, we are trying to get the KC to accept a proposal (written by DP) that will benefit our breed, indeed all breeds.
I've shown my dogs (off and on) for more than 20 years... German... always German!
I am certainly not embarrassed by the questions I ask (didn't someone say we should always be honest?) or by what I write. I can spell.
